Hi there! I'm Linda. I have a passion for baking, creative fun, and nature.
My love for baking started many years ago when I was 5 and made my first cake as a surpise for my Dad. During my childhood/teenage years I admired the cakes and pastries at the local Polish bakery. As an adult I would test flavors and create themed pieces of edible art to take into the office. I finally decided to put all this love, passion, and creativity to work and open the Purple Pig Bakery.
I hope to share my creative side and love for baking with you.

My great-grandparents moved from Poland to Philadelphia PA in the early 1900's. Many of our traditions and foods come from my Polish ancestry. Babcia is the Polish word for grandmother. Babkas are Polish sweet yeast breads typically made at Easter and included in the basket taken to church for the food blessing. I'd like to share a little of my heritage with you.

Imagine an iced green tea on a hot summer day, or maybe a warm spiced tea on a cold winter's day, or maybe an afternoon tea party with friends. I enjoy tea as much as the next person enjoys coffee and really enjoy infusing individual two-layer cakes with a variety of tea flavors. So, won't you join me for a "cup of tea".

Jars in biblical times were everyday vessels typically made of clay, used to store or carry things like water, oil, or wine. There ls a spiritual symbolism representing human frailty (ordinary jars) holding God's spirit (extraordinary treasure). May you find inspiration and hope as you enjoy our not-so-ordinary jars filled with extraordinary cake.

We have a unique offering at the Purple Pig - what we like to call "Baseball Bundts". Individually crafted small baseball size bundt cakes, each with a unique flavor that represents a major league baseball team, its stadium, or the city for which it plays.
